Rarity Tiers Explained

Seeds are divided into rarity tiers that determine how often they appear in shop restocks and how valuable their harvested crops are. Rarity tier names for GAG2 have not been officially confirmed at launch; the names used here come from Grow a Garden 1. Leaked info

In general: Common and Uncommon seeds appear in most restocks and are affordable for new players. Legendary through Prismatic seeds are rare restocks that require a fast reaction and a large Sheckle balance to purchase. See the Live Stock Tracker to catch rare restocks as they happen.

Best Seeds for Beginners

If you are just starting in GAG2, the safest approach is to buy Carrot and Strawberry first. Both are cheap, fast-growing, and nearly always in stock. Carrot was shown growing in the official trailer, confirming its beginner status. Strawberry is a multi-harvest crop, meaning one seed produces multiple fruits before it needs replanting.

Once you have a steady Sheckle income, upgrade to Uncommon and Rare seeds such as Blueberry and Corn. For a full walkthrough of your first session, see the Getting Started guide.

Defense Plants (Venus Flytrap)

Defense plants are purchasable seeds that also act as automated protection for your garden during the night phase. They produce harvestable crops in addition to their defensive function.

Venus FlytrapDivineTBAEats intruding players (confirmed — official trailer)

The Venus Flytrap was confirmed in the official Jandel trailer. It eats players who enter your garden to steal crops. Place it at garden entrances for maximum coverage. For a full defense strategy, see the Defense guide.

Ability Plants (Jump, Shrink, and Invisibility Mushrooms)

According to pre-release leaks, three mushroom ability items exist in GAG2 to help players steal from other gardens. Whether they are planted crops, consumable gear, or another item type is not yet confirmed. They are listed here because they appear in the seed data. Leaked info

Shrink MushroomShrinks player hitboxSlip through small gaps in fence defenses
Invisibility MushroomTemporary invisibilityAvoid detection by combat plants and other players

All mushroom ability data is from Do Big Leaks. Mechanics require in-game verification. A leaked video confirmed the Jump Mushroom by showing a player bouncing off one. Shrink and Invisibility mechanics are from the same leak source.

Robux-Only Seeds

Dragon's Breath is the only confirmed Robux-exclusive seed at launch. It cannot be purchased with Sheckles.

Robux price for Dragon's Breath is from a leaked in-game shop screenshot and has not been officially confirmed. Gifting is supported — players can buy Robux seeds and gift them to others.

How the Seed Shop Works

The seed shop is a central NPC stand in the middle of the map. To buy seeds:

  1. Walk to the seed shop in the center of the map (near NPC Sam and NPC Gilbert).
  2. Click the shop to open the seed purchase interface.
  3. Select a seed and confirm the purchase with Sheckles (or Robux for premium seeds).
  4. The seed is added to your inventory. Walk to your garden plot and plant it by selecting it and clicking on an empty tile.
  5. Seeds grow in real time, including while you are offline. Return to harvest when the growth timer completes.

The shop restocks approximately every 4 to 5 minutes. Rare seeds sell out quickly — use the Live Stock Tracker to get advance notice.
